Elcom’s multi-site and sub-site solutions allow organisations to create standalone websites with unique branding and URLs or seamlessly integrated sub-sites, all managed through a single platform.
All multi-sites also benefit from an automatic upgrade if and when the main website is upgraded to the latest software version. Deploying sub-sites require no additional platform cost as it is simply an additional section within the main council site.
Dubbo Regional Council uses both multi-sites and sub-sites to streamline its online presence, delivering cohesive yet distinct online experiences for its diverse audience while reducing management complexity.
- The Dubbo Airport site operates as a multi-site with its own URL and branding, maintaining a standalone identity while sharing content and templates with the main Council website. This approach allows the Airport to provide uncluttered, mobile-responsive information while benefiting from shared functionality like the use of dynamic widgets and the taxonomy manager for automated content updates.
- Meanwhile, the Livestock Markets and Showground sites are sub-sites, retaining the look and feel of the main Council site with custom colours and branding. They are part of the main site’s folder structure, simplifying administration while ensuring visitors can easily identify them as part of the Council's ecosystem.
- The Council also launched the Drought Hub sub-site, a centralised resource for residents and tourists during drought conditions.
